Bumpdate – 6 Weeks

6 Weeks

How far along: 6 weeks
Gender: So far, everyone guesses BOY (except Alex, who is still hoping for a girl)
How big is baby: About the size of a sweet pea, or 0.25 inches. Eep! So cute!
Newest baby developments: Little Babeski is starting to get some of his/her adorable baby features, including little eyes, ears, a nose, chin, and cheeks. He/she might even be wiggling little arms and legs all around!
Sleep: Definitely can’t fall asleep without getting up to pee 4-5 times first. That’s getting just a little bit annoying, but of course there’s nothing I wouldn’t go through for our itty bitty sweet pea.
Weirdest symptoms: Most of the time everything is fine and dandy, but I have to be in just the right mood to eat, otherwise I start feeling really nauseous. Also, the perpetual exhaustion is setting in. I’m pretty much dead by 8pm every night.
Best moment this week: Probably making my first prenatal appointment. : ) It’s not for another two weeks (which seems like forever away), but it’s still exciting and definitely something we’re anxious for. Also, we nailed down our new health insurance plan, which sounds pretty boring but was actually such a relief.
Worst moment this week: Dealing with the insurance companies for hours on end. I swear, Alex and I were on the phone nonstop for like three days. But! It’s all taken care of now, thank the Lord. : )
Cravings: No true cravings I don’t think, but I noticed I’m definitely avoiding certain things. Ex: thinking about anything super greasy (potato chips, fast food, my beloved french fries) suddenly makes me feel sick. That’s probably a good thing, though. I bought a bunch of fresh fruit and veggies + granola which all helps settle my tummy. I hope the baby likes eating them too!
Queasy or sick: Only the occasional feeling of queasiness. It usually passes in no time.
Looking forward to: Our first doctor’s appointment!
