Bumpdate – 11 weeks

How far along: 11 weeks
Gender: We just found out that we could possibly determine the gender sooner than we were thinking! At our next appointment (next Monday, March 2nd) we’re getting genetic screening done along with blood work and apparently you can find out the gender based on whether or not they find a Y chromosome from the blood work! I’m going to double check with my doctor’s office but if it’s a possibility, we’ll know within a few weeks. 🙂
How big is baby: About the size of a lime, or 1.6-2 inches long. Weight is about 0.3 ounces. I’ve finally kind of sort of MAYBE noticed a teeny little baby bump this week. It’s not super noticeable at all (I tried to make it obvious in the picture above just for my own records) but my lower tummy is definitely started to poke out just a bit more than usual, especially at night.
Newest baby developments: Little Babeski now has fingernails, hair follicles, and his/her fingers and toes are finally all distinct (no more webbed froggy fingers, yay!).  He/she is acting more and more like a baby now too, swimming around and practicing chewing and swallowing. I hope we get to see some movement at our ultrasound next week!
Sleep: I’ve been waking up to pee at least once a night lately, which is super fun. But other than that, it’s pretty much business as usual.
Weirdest symptoms: All pretty mild still, but oddly I did throw up once this week — the first time I’ve thrown up in years. Everything was fine and dandy right up until I accidentally got some butter on my finger and decided to lick it off. My head was in the toilet about 30 seconds later lol. I thought I’d probably beaten morning sickness by this point but I guess it just had to sneak in at least once before I hit the second trimester.
Best moment this week: Our church held a conference on Thursday and Friday (God, Government, and Culture) and I loved getting to learn more about the Old Testament Law and what different leaders of the faith believe about it. Super heavy material but so interesting (and important).
Worst moment this week: I tried to print some wedding photos (finally lol) and they came out blurry because I used the wrong type of file. But since that was the worst part of my week, I’d say it was a pretty good week. 🙂
Cravings: Spicy chicken sandwiches?? I’ve always loved those though so I can’t tell if it’s a legit craving.
Looking forward to: Definitely figuring out if the blood work really will give us the gender of our baby. I’m going to call them tomorrow and find out!
