Bumpdate – 20 weeks

20 weeksHow far along: 20 weeks! Halfway there!!!
How big is baby: About the size of a banana, or 6.5 inches. Weight is about 10.2 ounces.
Newest baby developments: His taste buds are working now (although there’s not much to taste) and he’s practicing his breathing and swallowing by taking in several ounces of amniotic fluid every day (ew, kind of gross).
Movement: I love feeling all his little kicks and punches and squirms. 🙂 The strangest thing is when I can feel him move down towards my bladder or when he rolls over out of nowhere. You can’t tell from the outside but it’s definitely a weird sensation.
Weirdest symptoms: Some round ligament pain this week, but stretching and rest have seemed to help for the most part! I’ve also started to feel a bit more uncomfortable just in general…it’s harder to breathe as my belly is getting bigger and pushing up against my lungs and it’s even getting harder to roll over or stand up or tie my shoes. But this is a one-way train and I know it’s going to get much harder before it gets any easier haha.
Best moment this week: Moving some of our stuff over to the new apartment! We don’t have to be out of our current place for a few more weeks so it’s been nice to be able to clean everything thoroughly and not rush the move-in process.
Worst moment this week: I started feeling kind of icky on Friday and now I’ve got a little bit of a cold, which stinks. I’m trying to rest as much as I can and drink plenty of water, so hopefully it’ll be gone within a few days.
Cravings: Nothing really in particular!
Looking forward to: Our anatomy scan tomorrow afternoon. 🙂 It’s always the best when we get to see our boy. His growth amazes me every time!
